Details of Concert

Peregian Originals is excited to present the most successful and arguably most-loved Sunshine Coast band ever: OKA!  Also performing on the day will be Roz from national/international touring act, Women In Docs, as her alter ego, ‘Roz and The Wayward Gentlemen’.  The spicy opening act on the day will be internationally acclaimed New Zealand guitarist, Andrew White.

Concert will include a peaceful one hour forum/rally, featuring key speakers from the community to send a strong message to Council that the people’s ‘show must go on’ where it has been cultivated and where it continues to peacefully thrive at Peregian Beach.

Everyone is encouraged to arrive early on a day that will see Peregian town teeming with life, and wherever possible locals are encouraged to use alternative forms of transportation and to utilise the free parking space across David Low Way to ease parking on the day.

Three live bands and a great crowd. No cover charge and drinks are reasonably priced. Starts at 5.30 pm and continues to around mid-night.

Tom Richardson – one of the most popular young artists ever to perform at Palmwoods. His latest cd release “Evolution” is receiving airplay across the country and Toms ever widening reputation sees him packing the “joint” wherever he goes. The dreads and lap slide guitar are almost de rigueur these days for Australian roots artists but Tom is something else again…. See More

Website – www.myspace.com/tomrichardsonmusic

Asa Broomhall – another of the Palmwoods hotels favourite regulars. When he’s not on the road or in the studio of course. Both of which, he’s been doing more and more these days. He’ll be back this time with his rockin’ trio playing tracks from his new release “Revelry Road”; fresh from a couple of shows in Sydney with Diesel and this just sets the scene for this month’s headliner

Website – www.myspace.com/asabroomhall

Ray Beadle – first came to the attention of Australia’s blues loving public when he was asked to join iconic Australian blues outfit, “The Foreday Riders” at the age of 13. In the years that have followed, Ray’s enormous talent has seen him travel to the US for month long residencies at BB Kings Blues Club in Memphis, recordings with harmonica wiz Mark Sallings and in 2008, a much talked about appearance at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. Ray’s third release “Loaded” has only recently been released and documents the continued expansion of the monumental talent of this young man not yet 30yrs old. A hotshot guitar player certainly, but Ray’s wonderful songwriting and souldeep singing are what enable this young man to stand apart from the rest

Host this Event: If you are definitely going to this event and would like to act as host please let us know. You don’t have to do much – we just list your name and number along with the event so you can talk to people if they need – it’s usually pretty basic stuff and often new people just need reassurance from a friendly voice.
